We were roaming through the area while we were camping at North Bend Park in Boydton, Va and had stopped in an antique store around lunch time so we asked the owner where could we get a light lunch.  He immediately suggested the Whistle Stop.  So off we go...only 4 blocks from the antique store. :-)  Great little place.  Sweet potato casserole was delish.   Turkey club sandwich had real roasted turkey...not deli meat..and my husband and I split it. Good sweet tea too.  Must try if you are in the area.   Only open M-F, 11:00-8:00.

I recommend the pot roast and corn nuggets! Delicious, home cooked food with daily specials & good service from familiar faces. Call your food in if you're short on time. Cash only & generally closed on weekends & holidays is the only downside. You won't regret a trip here

Everything is home style and done just right. I have been here several times and never been disappointed. Servers are friendly and the prices are good. You won't find better food anywhere. Just like Granny's house but better. The pot roast is outstanding but they don't have it often enough. I am pretty sure the yeast rolls are homemade and they are great. If you are ever in the area be sure to drop in. You'll be glad you did.
